Bought this for my home gym . This mat is AMAZING. Not a bad thing to say!!!This mat is a nice thick rubber material which has one side that is more grippy and patterned for the floor and a smoother side which is faced up. The mat did have a slight rubbery smell upon arrival but nothing to bothersome and now I don’t notice any smell at all. I have been using my mat on carpet in my basement when I do high fitness and les mills at home workouts. The mat stays put and does not slide as I workout. The mat is not super thick but give the additional support my joints needed when jumping and doing burpees. I have noticed less fatigue in my joints since using this mat. I will say the mat felt sticky when it first arrived but after about a week of use the stickiness has gone away. I have read you can wipe it down with a damp cloth and then dry it to get the sticky to go away immediately. It didn’t really bother me so I left it alone and the stickiness went away on its own. I have to store my mat between uses and it is relatively easy to roll by myself. The mat comes with 3 Velcro straps to secure the mat when rolled and a bag. The mat is heavy but I can easily move it on my own. I was worried that the mat would not lie flat since I have to keep it stored rolled and that has not been the case. I put it out and then step on the slightly rolled end and it goes flat. I love the size of the mat. The 10x6 is a good size to do a full aerobic class where you are not standing stationary the whole time. It is also a good size for a stationary workout for 2 people. Gxmmat is the only brand I could find with the 10x6 size. My issue arouse with the delivery of the product. I ordered on 5/24 and received several delays on the item even though the item showed in stock with 2 day delivery each time. I reached out to the company which gave me an auto-reply of a canned response saying shipping is done by amazon and there was nothing they could really do and that they reached out to amazon but were told that I had to contact them directly. I reached out to amazon and was told delays in shipping were out of their hands and most of the time was a result of the seller not having their product at the warehouse. This run around went on for an entire month. After the 5th delivery date fell through on 6/24 I decided to place another order since it showed the item in stock with 2 day shipping. I placed a second order and my item shipped the next day and delivered no problem. I am not sure what the issue was with my first order but from other reviews it doesn’t look like my situation was an isolated incident. Overall I am happy with my mat and wished I had tried placing another order earlier so I could have been utilizing the mat during my workouts for the month instead of waiting on delivery.My husband and I have used the puzzle piece gym mats in the past to cover the garage flooring for our home gym. We disliked that style of flooring because they would hold moisture and were difficult to get clean. I wanted wall-to-wall gym flooring but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. I found these mats on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I bought 6 mats to cover my gym area. They get the job done, but I will say that not every mat is cut precisely. Some were off by up to 2 inches while other sides were cut at a slight angle. Honestly, that bothered me in the beginning, but I just overlapped the mats that didn't fit well. Overall, I am pleased with this product.It's heavy and lies flat and offers good cushioning. Did I mention that it's heavy? If you can't lift this by yourself, then you should exercise more to build strength. You might want to get one of these mats to help with the exercise. I know -- chicken and egg! But really, I love the mat, and would gladly recommend this to anyone who wants a really big mat on which to exercise. Unless you're too weak to move it.Great mat. Extremely tough, comes as described with straps for rolling it up (if necessary or to move...). It’s thick, “gives” just the right amount, and does not move around on our painted garage floor (epoxy painted).One gripe - the mat (ours are the 6x10’ version) is extremely consistent on the 6’ width dimension. That is, it appears to be machine cut (or made to 6’ wide) as the mat is 100% straight ACROSS the 6’ width along the entire mat. On the other hand, the length at 10’ appears to be have hand cut. It is not EXACTLY 10’ long from edge to edge. The cut across the 6’ width is a bit wavy. We have two mats side by side. If the mats were 100% square, one would expect two mats to align along all edges. See the accompanying image. Because the length is not a perfectly straight 90 degree cut, the ends don't’ match up.We butted our mats along the long edge; the mats form a surface 12’ by 10’ wide. The butt is perfect as those edges appear to be machine cut. In our case, this worked out great as you can barely see where the mats are butted; the sides are that straight. If you intended to butt two mats together end-to-end to form a 6’ x 20’ surface, you would definitely see a gap between the two mats.Again, not a huge deal, likely something you would not notice with one mat by itself.I looked at all the floor mats on Amazon and read all the reviews 100x over and over before making this decision. This mat was exactly what I wanted. It is thick and heavy duty and rolled out perfectly and flattened completely in about 3 days. I put it over high pile carpet in our spare bedroom that I wanted to use as a yoga studio/ general fitness room bc it just didn’t feel right as a fitness room with the carpet. Adding this mat made all the difference and it now feels like a proper fitness studio. I am glad I went with the larger size it was more than worth the price. Don’t over think it, get this mat. Considering getting another one for our garage where we have heavy weights- would be perfect for that purpose as well.Bought this mat as a Christmas gift for my wife. It arrived and when it was spread out there is a 2 inch tear/cut out of the side. My wife loves the mat however I will not likely buy this brand again due to how it was shipped. For the price it should have been checked for tears, or defects prior to shipping!So glad I didn't buy a smaller size. The 10x6 is perfect for one person doing aerobics or weight routines. Any smaller and you'll fall off the mat. Actually, if they had 10x8 it would be the best, but I couldn't find any like that without a seam and possible shifting, etc. Works well, a good thickness for the above mentioned activities.
